The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit two Learning Support Assistants to work at Castle Batch Primary School Academy. We require an enthusiastic individual who would like to support a child in our Reception year group. A knowledge and experience of ASD, Social Emotional & Mental Health is desirable. Knowledge and experience of developing communication skills is essential.
Castle Batch is an exciting, forward thinking and dynamic primary academy, which Ofsted judged to be ‘good’ (June 2022). Ofsted said, ‘Castle Batch is an inclusive school, characterised by very good relationships and a caring ethos’. The school has very committed staff who work creatively, in partnership with parents, to enable children to achieve great outcomes. We also place great emphasis on supporting children on a social and emotional level and have a strong ethos of inclusion in relation to our SEND children.
We are part of The Priory Learning Trust, comprising of local primary and secondary schools, enabling us to work closely with a range of practitioners from all phases of education. This is a very exciting time for Castle Batch and a great time to join us.
What you will do:
- Work under the direction of the class teacher to ensure learning targets are met and the child is supported to achieve their best in the school environment
- Promote wellbeing by encouraging them to develop good relationships with others, develop their self-reliance and self-esteem and help them adjust to new settings
The successful candidate will have;
- Excellent and effective communication skills
- A good standard of education/ three or more GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C minimum or L2 literacy and numeracy
- Some experience of working with children with sensory needs
- Some experience of working with children with Social Communication and interaction needs
- Good interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively.
- Some experience of working with children with ASD
- An ability to adapt and respond to the needs of the child

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
